Geocache Description:

Cache placed by the 67th Winnipeg Scout Troop.

This is one of four caches placed by the 67th Winnipeg Scout Troop one rainy October night as we hiked the limestone trail winding through the FortWhyte Alive forest habitat. The night was so cloudy, and the nearby city lights so bright, that it was easy to see our cache locations well after sunset. In fact, the "city glow" lit up the yellow leaves trembling on the aspen trees in a way rarely seen.

FortWhyte Alive is dedicated to providing programming, natural settings and facilities for environmental education, outdoor recreation and social enterprise. In so doing, FortWhyte promotes awareness and understanding of the natural world and actions leading to sustainable living.

For generations, hundreds of thousands of Canadian youth have benefited from Scouting's programs. They have sought the fun, friendship and adventure of the Movement and discovered its values, educational methods and youth leadership opportunities. Whether running activities, organizing camps, or connecting with other youth across Manitoba or Canada through camps and Jamborees, the 67th Winnipeg Scout program emphasizes having fun while encouraging youth to feel good about themselves, their friends and family, and the environment.
