Geocache Description:

This is a simple cache related to a nearby memorial with convenient parking very close by!

I originally placed the container at a War Memorial to veterans. At the memorial is a field artillery piece and a marker with an inscription honoring those who have served our country.  The inscription is a paraphrased quote from Albert Pike who said “What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.”  As a Marine Corps veteran, it seemed like a good place to put a cache but I had to move it because the location was too close to the final stage of another. You don't need to visit the memorial to claim this cache, but if you would like to see it, it's about 800 feet away and the coordinates are N 38° 49.868 W 077° 11.657. As for the cache itself, this type of cache container will likely be familiar to cachers who have been in the game for awhile. The first time I found one like this, I was impressed so I've hidden a few others like it. It is in a visible area and muggles abound so be careful! There is only room for a log, so you will need to bring something to write with. Please use stealth and replace it as you found it. Have fun!
