Geocache Description:

This is a great cache for wildlife lovers and families. It is easily accessible and you will learn something too!

This cache is located in Sir Phillip Game Reserve. The reserve has been set up as part of Sydney's Greenspace initiative. There is a simple elevated board walk through the bush. You can see and hear many types of local birds. The area is also used as a conservation space for the microbats that live in the trees surrounding the reserve. In recent months, there has been a safe haven set up for the microbats at the end of the board walk. A big thank you to all the WIRES volunteers who rescue and tend sick and injured native animals. You can see the WIRES contact details at the microbat safe haven point. The cache is a micro...for obvious reasons. You will need to bring your own pen/pencil to sign the log. There is no need to leave the board walk to find the cache. The information board about the microbats is very interesting. Congrats to the Vikings FTF.
