In 1577, Hashiba Hideyoshi, who was appointed as a commander of Chugoku area military by Oda Nobunaga, set up a headquarters for attacking Miki Castle on Mt. Hirai. The cache is micro size and have only a log sheet. So, please bring your pen. Do not go over the barrier. Please bring your pen.
秀吉本陣は、天正(1577)年、織田信長から中国方面軍の司令官を命ぜられた羽柴秀吉が、三木城攻撃の際に本陣を置いたところです。平井山からは、三木城本丸が一望に見渡せるため、秀吉はここで三木城の備えを見ながら、指揮を執りました。また、この頃から茶会の開催を許された秀吉は、天正６(1578)年10月15日に、この陣で初の茶会を開いています。天正７(1579)年２月、三木城に籠る別所方は、このままなす術も無く、兵糧が減りつづける事に対する怖れと、事態打開のために、強硬派である別所吉親の策を採用して、平井山本陣を急襲することとなりました(平井山合戦)。この戦いに投入した別所方の兵力は2500とも3500ともいわれています。しかし、この行動は、平井山の秀吉本陣からは丸見えであったため、秀吉は有効な対策を行い、別所軍を撃退しました。この戦いでは、長治の弟別所小八郎治定が後陣として参加していましたが、敗戦により討死しています。筆記具を持参ください。
