Unarchive a geocache

Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. Only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ can unarchive caches. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if the cache meets the current geocaching guidelines.

If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

In keeping with the aim of geocaching to bring people to places for a reason we couldn’t think of a better place or better reason to visit this amazing spot.

The City of Bayswater in partnership with the Swan River Trust have spent $3 million dollars to revitalise the Eric Singleton Bird Sanctuary.  It was previously a swampland being taken over by insidious vegetation, and now the newly planted native plants and surroundings encourage the wildlife.

The second of three stages has just been completed and this means the birds are just starting to return after having their habitat disturbed for 12 months, the plants are also putting down roots. It is amazing to see the work they have done and will certainly be a place to visit again and again as the place changes. Take the time to wander through and enjoy the birds exploring and returning to their new home.

It is a dog friendly place although be aware to get to the cache your dog must be on a lead and is not allowed to enter the wetlands, however continue down the path toward the river for a great dog friendly park.

This cache is hidden a short distance from the ‘entrance’ to new walk way through the sanctuary. It is only a small Sistema container but has enough room for a few treasures or small trackable.
