This event is something new for the NWOG, and will most likely be something new for most participants. Come and try your hand at Thunder Bay's best social winter sport - Curling! No experience or equipment is necessary - club has sliders and brooms. There are also push sticks available for those that would prefer to use them. Please bring clean "indoor" shoes.
We will spend the first hour or so just learning how to slide, and sweep, and throw, then we will break up into teams and have a couple of fun games. No pressure or competitiveness this afternoon. Once we are finished we can all head upstairs for come Chinese food and a BEvERage or two from Ling Lees.
We will meet upstairs and get organized before heading down to the ice. Family members and friends are welcome. If children are coming, it is recommended that they wear some sort of helmet(not provided by club). Final costs for curling will depend on the number of people that end up signing up and how many sheets we need to rent. Current estimates are about $15-20 per person.
Also if you are not into curling, and you want to join us for dinner after or just want to come and watch - that's fine to.
Please indicate on your Will Attend if you plan on curling or not, and how many people in your group would be curling.
