This cache marks the location of where we scattered the ashes of our three beloved hounds Max, Meg and Seamus. It's a beautiful spot in the Forest they loved - a place to sleep in the sun, chase squirrels and tuck into some delicious horse poo (!)
Park in Godshill wood car park then head for the path on the opposite side to the wood's edge. It starts past the far end of the car-park, and runs off at a tangent almost parallel to the CP and woods before going downhill and eventually to a footbridge over a small stream. The cache is very nearby.
You can then re-trace your steps to the car, or walk along the stream to the next footbridge and back in a loop of around 2.7km which takes approx. 40 mins.
We'd love to see pictures of your own geo-hounds enjoying this spot.
The terrain is a mixture of gravel paths (some sloping and uneven) and grass, but there is a steep slope and there are roots and patches that get muddy after rain. Cache is placed in accordance with the GAGB New Forest guidelines. Please note there is no night caching allowed in the New Forest
