Geocache Description:

War Memorial Cache #110 We will remember them ~ Bishop Auckland.

The Bishop Auckland war memorial is different from many such tributes as it lists wars and conflicts rather than naming the fallen. It is believed that this is due to the high numbers of people from Bishop Auckland who were killed during the First World War.
This memorial is currently being restored, and is looking amazing already, but you should still be able to answer all clues. It's also being updated to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the Afghanistan conflict.

This is a multi-cache and can be found a short walk away at N 54° 39.ABC W 001° 40.DEF by working out the coordinates from the clues below.

A = Number of letters in the 6th word on the front of the memorial
B = On the rear of the memorial, add the numbers together of the right year
C = On the right side of the memorial, last digit of the year divided by 2
D = Number of letters in the 1st word on the front of the memorial
E = Number of heroes names on the memorial
F = Number of letters in the 13th word in the 1939 - 1945 inscription.

Checksum for numbers is 27

There are literally thousands of War memorials around the country. WW1 Memorials were usually raised through public subscription to remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. This year 2014 is also the centenary of the start of the First World War it's about time there was a series dedicated to War Memorials. There is an un-numbered series in Scotland called Lest we forget. The name of this series We Shall remember them, was chosen from the very moving poem “For the Fallen” by Laurence Binyon. It is well worth searching out and reading.”
