Catalina State Park consists of 5,500 acres of high Sonora Desert habitat with a landscape dominated by ocotillo, cholla, and saguaro cactus. Several seasonal streams provide habitat for mesquite, desert willow, and cottonwoods. Although the park is set in the Sonoran Desert, it bustles with wildlife. Mule Deer are frequently seen in the park.
