Here is one of my favorite places to chill out in Shanghai, as well as go for an evening run when the air is clean and the weather is nice.
This cache lies in a former industrial area of Shanghai, rife with concrete and steel of days past. Since then, it has been transformed into a nice riverside park with rock climbing, a skate park, and a long running track built in. I have always liked this place for its modern post-industrial styling, and because you can watch the coal barges and cargo boats steaming up and down the river as a main artery of Shanghai’s economy.
You can sit on the boardwalk with a good book, watch the kites fly, get some exercise, or just walk along and observe the people enjoying themselves.
