Geocache Description:

Not far off the beaten path.  Keep your eyes to the ground.

This cache has been PWP (Placed with permission).

On the 29th of October in the year Two-Thousand Fifteen, Goochland Middle School’s World Geography students established this geocache with permission to commemorate the voyage of the “GMS Discovery” to the Mariners’ Museum and Park.  Ninety-seven students from Mr. Hecker’s World Geography class participated in two outstanding programs here at the museum. We learned about navigation in the Age of Discovery and conservation with regard to the Chesapeake Bay.  We hiked the Noland Trail, and went treasure-hunting for other, nearby geocaches.  We explored the world, and were illuminated as only the Mariners’ Museum could spectacularly facilitate.

Our hope is that this geocache will invite future navigators to this place to learn and to be inspired -- as we are – to explore the far-reaches of our world.
