Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the series of caches placed for the 2015 Greater Gainesville Caching Weekend. You will need to find each of the caches in this series to obtain the clues needed to find the bonus cache. This cache is located in Sweetwater Preserve, an Alachua County Park.


About Sweetwater Preserve

125-acre Preserve adjacent to Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. No access to State Park. Sweewater Preserve offers 3 miles of unpaved trails served by two separate trailheads. The 1.75-mile West Trail is located at the east terminus of SE 16th Avenue and meanders through hardwoods and floodplain. The 1.2-mile East Trail Trailhead is located approx 0.3 miles north of Boulware Springs City Park (3300 Southeast 15th Street, Gainesville) along paved Gainesville- Hawthorne Trail. Park at Boulware Springs and walk north along the GHRT.​

The cache is located in the western portion of the park which is not accessible from the eastern portion. Please park at Boulware Springs Park and walk along the paved trail until you reach the entrance to Sweetwater Preserve. The cache is located a short walk down the trail once you enter the preserve.
