Consistent with Abe’s motto of ‘go big or go home,’ his childhood train set was life-size. His father wouldn’t let him set it up near the family’s cabin, which is why you’re here and not there.
Back in Abe’s day, raw steel would be shipped down the Ohio River from St. Louis to Pittsburgh. Occasionally, a hobo trying to hop on a barge would knock off some steel, which would then float to the shore where Abe would lug it home and use it to build tracks for his train set.
The posted coordinates will bring you to the middle of those tracks, which can be a dangerous place. So quickly add .087 to the North and .008 to the West to get you to a nearby sign that has what you seek. Have fun and enjoy the history of the area!
