GGA November 2015 Meeting: Cannons & Caches & Coin Event Cache

Join the Georgia Geocachers Association for a Historically good geo-outing in Fantastic Fort McAllister!

Saturday November 14, 2015  1-2 PM.

Georgia Geocachers Association (GGA) loves history (and is the oldest geocaching club in the world)  In November we head to south Georgia to one of our favorite state parks: Ft. McAllister!    

There is a LOT to see and do here, especially since the park is also having its Get Outdoors Festival the same day! (Yes, there will be Geo-101 information table on the park grounds during the festival.)   With that in mind, we encourage everyone to join us for an hour of socializing with your fellow cachers and history-fans, a very quick business meeting,  including announcements of upcoming events and elections, and then a raffle of various GGA coins! For those who wish to stay, feel free to join a special Daytime Tour of the fort and parade grounds, lead by the park staff historian. (Not required to get the smiley for the GGA meeting, but it will be a great option!   Civil War reenactors will be on the grounds as well, adding some noise and authenticity to the tour.) 

Meeting/Event starts at 1:00 PM.

Please note: THERE IS PARK ENTRANCE FEE of $5.00 per car to enter the park.

There will also be a $5.00 historic site fee above the park entrance fee. It is a one time fee for entrance into the historic site, which is separate from the state park.

Coordinates will bring you near the visitor's center of the state park.  Look for GGA banner.
