Katikati Murals Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

pinocchio59: Have decided to archive this cache as it is becoming trickier with murals being removed and is a very hard cache to complete without assistance. There are other Ad Labs around here which are fun to complete so I believe this cache is now "past its 'use by' date"

Geocache Description:

Cache is not at the listed coordinates - you will need to view the murals along the main street to work out the final coordinates.

There used to be a very similar puzzle here, so we decided to reinstate (a slightly simplified) one as we enjoyed the original.  It's a fun one for kids.  Or anyone who likes counting and subtracting...

I recommend parking at the north end of town and head south, along the right hand side. Road crossings are required so take care.

The clue numbers match the mural numbers.

1:  How many people are not sitting on chairs?

30:  How many koru?

37:  How many toy soldiers?

6:  What is Mrs Earl's cow's name?  (count letters)

5:  How many vehicles?

39:  How many people?

55:  How many colours on the pukeko's paint palette?

17:  How many fairies?

7:  How many windows? (don't count the individual panes)

3:  How many pens?

--- TOTAL for first half = 85 ---

16:  How many power/phone poles? See Open Air Art Katikati

14:  How many four legged animals?

10:  How many vehicles?

41:  How many animals?  (including birds) Odd number

15:  How many whips?

8:  How many birds? Odd number

26&27:  What's the name of the store?  (two words, count letters)

38:  How many (open) eyes?

2:  How many dinghies?

64:  What was George Vesey Stewart a founder of? (two words, count letters)

11:  What year is the calendar on?  (last two digits)

--- TOTAL for second half = 92 ---

Now replace the following numbers with your answers.

A = 30 + 14 - 2

B = 26&27 - 8 - 10

C = 5 - 38 - 7

D = 26&27 - 3 - 16

E = 41 - 15 - 17

F = 64 - 37 - 3

G = 64 - 39 - 55

H = 1 - 11 + 6

Nearly there! Now use your calculations to replace the letters in the coordinates:

South 37° 3A.BCD East 175° 5E.FGH
