If you've lived on the West Coast you know what's at stake.  The clock is ticking until the next catastrophic earthquake. Here in the mountains the chances aren't great, because we're so far away from the boundary of a tectonic plate.  So you can sleep easy, but it's amazing to see that the crust is moving beneath you and me. 

Z = The highest magnitude earthquake ever recorded was in Chile in 196__

Y = The largest earthquake ever recorded in North America was in 196___

X = The list of strongest earthquakes ever recorded include Alaska, Japan, Chile, Ecuador, and Indonesia.  All of these are part of the _________

W = A magnitude _____  earthquake and Tsunami off the coast of Japan resulted in the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl.  The Fukushima nuclear power plant cooling system was damaged and three of the reactors went into meltdown.  Radioactive material was released into the open ocean.

V = The most destructive tsunami  ever recorded was caused by a 9.1 megathrust earthquake where the Indian Plate is subducting under the Burma Plate. It occurred the day after Christmas December 26th 200____.
