Here at the coordinates you find yourself on a beautiful lookout point in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains. From here you can see the place where you should go if you want to solve this cache. Hier an den Koordinaten befindest Du Dich an einem schönen Aussichtspunkt mitten in den Ausläufern des Tramuntanagebirges. Von hier aus kannst Du rechts die Stelle sehen, an die Du gehen solltest, wenn Du diesen Earthcache lösen möchtest. Das Gebirge erstreckt sich über die gesamte Nord-Westküste Mallorcas und entstand, als vor mehr als 300 Millionen Jahren die Kontinente Laurentia (heute Nordamerika), Europa und der damalige Kontinent Gondwana zusammenstießen. Es bildete sich ein riesiges Gebirge über den damaligen Kontinent Pangea. In der Folge war das Gestein der Erosion ausgesetzt. Die Spuren davon findet man heute noch überall hier im Gebirge in Form von rotem Sand- und Tonsteinen. Jedoch besteht der größte Teil des Gebirges aus Kalkstein, welcher vor ca. 180 Millionen Jahren in einem seichten Meer entstand. Meist waren es Übereste von kalkhaltigen Schalen von Schnecken, Muscheln oder anderen Kleinstlebewesen, die sich nach dem Absterben am Meeresboden ablagerten und die Grundlage des Kalksteins bildeten. Fast die komplette Oberfläche der Insel besteht aus Kalkgestein. |

Der Weg zum Cache führt über einen relativ guten Wanderweg. Starten kann man entweder vom Norden von Orient aus oder vom Süden aus Richtung Santa Maria. Der Weg ist nicht kinderwagengerecht, aber Kinder werden in Begleitung Erwachsener keine größeren Probleme haben. Trotzdem solltet Ihr für die Wanderung hin und zurück einen guten halben Tag einplanen. |

La erosión de las rocas sedimentarias es la descomposición química por el agua. El agua de lluvia se combina con XXX y disuelve los componentes solubles de la roca. Especialmente en superficies inclinadas. La mayoría de la degradación afecta minerales rápida solubles. Por ejemplo: yeso, sal y piedra caliza. En erosión severa puede conducir a la karstificación del rock. Hay tres grupos: 1.libre erosión, 2. semi-libre y la erosión 3. erosión cubierto. In the picture above you can see grooves in limestone (small form of Karst), which were formed by erosion. The erosion of sedimentary rock is the chemical decomposition by water. Rainwater combines with XXX and dissolves particular on inclined surfaces, the soluble components of the rock. The fastest way affects the decomposition at the rapidly soluble gypsum salt and limestones. In severe erosion may lead to karstification of rock. Bei dem oberen Bild siehst Du Lösungsrillen im Kalkstein (Kleinform von Karst), die durch Erosion entstanden sind. Die Erosion bei Sedimentgestein ist die chemische Zersetzung durch Wasser. Regenwasser verbindet sich mit XXX und löst insbesondere an geneigten Flächen die löslichen Bestandteile des Gesteins. Am stärksten wirkt die Zersetzung bei den schnell löslichen Gips- Salz- und eben Kalkgesteinen. Bei starker Erosion kann es zu Verkarstung des Gesteins kommen. Man unterscheidet hier drei Gruppen: 1.freie Karren, 2. halbfreie Karren und 3. bedeckte Karren. Am Referenzpunkt stehst Du zum Beispiel genau auf einer dieser Arten, und Du kannst sehr gut die Verwitterungen beobachten, die sich im Laufe der Zeit gebildet haben. |
