The Location: Part of the Wild Atlantic Way on the West coast of Ireland, the Sky Road is a stunningly scenic route clinging to the side of Clifden bay with breath-taking views out across the lower land and islands to the Atlantic. This 11km loop road out from Clifden is an ideal day's hike, hilly cycle, or short road trip (if driving, why not continue North around the coast up to Omey Island - a beautiful day trip, tide permitting). Bring your camera and a raincoat.
Getting to GZ: From Clifden, follow the signage for the Sky Road and take the Upper Road when it splits (the Lower Road is also worth a separate visit). At the highest point on the road is a scenic overlook with a large parking area. The cache is close by ...
