Geocache Description:

There lies a treasure in this land worth more than anyone could ever imagine.

Thousands of years ago a mighty civilization ruled the southern lands. The Tuskaken people were a powerful race whose power source came from their collection of magic silver coins. It is unknown where these silver coins came from, but the power that they contained was immense indeed. It is said that any person owning a single one of these coins could be whatever they wanted. Rich, powerful and smart, anyone owning just one of these coins could be whatever they wanted!

In fact the coins were so powerful that owning two would be catastrophic. The power when doubled was always too much for any mere mortal. The Tuskaken people kept their collection of coins together, but because ownership was shared amongst the whole community they avoided the curse of owning too many coins whilst reaped the benefits of having a large collection of these coins. Therefore the Tuskaken people owned all the fertile land, produced the best crops, raised the fattest animals and had the most powerful armies.

Axlan Irmard was the leader of a small and very poor neighboring civilization, Ushlepsen. The Ushlepsen people understandably were extremely jealous of the power wielded by the Tuskaken empire. Axlan longed to rid the Tuskaken of their silver magic coins to create a more balanced environment where his people could compete fairly for quality land. But he watched as year after year the Ushlepsen people lived only in severe poverty. They eked out a meager existence on the peripheral of the Tuskaken empire, using only the land deemed not fertile enough to try and grow their crops. The Ushlepsen adults were weak, the children were hungry. It was with a heavy heart that Axlan realized that to save his people he would need to re-balance the scales, he would need to steal the silver coins from the Tuskaken people, to give his people a fair chance at making a descent living.

However, Axlan was a wise man and he realized that if the Ushlepsen people owned the coins then all that would happen would be a role reversal. The Ushlepsen would become rich, but the Tuskaken people would become poor. Axlan couldn’t wish this kind of poverty on anyone, not even his greatest enemy. Axlan knew it meant certain death, but he planned to steal the coins and hide them where no-one would ever find them.

We know that this all happened because the Tuskaken people lost their coins. The balance of power shifted and the Tuskaken people realized what had happened and now not blinded by the wealth that the coins provided gladly shared their wealth, their fertile lands and animals with the Ushlepsen. The Ushlepsen grew stronger, they welcomed their friendship with the Tuskaken, but were forever saddened by the loss of their great leader, Axlan Irmard. No one knew what became of Axlan and no body was ever recovered. What is known though is that he completed his task, he stole the silver coins and hid them somewhere. Those magic silver coins are out there, waiting to be discovered.

Recently, the great wizard Olbaldine has been able to sense the presence of a great source of powerful magic in the Bogong high plains. It is undoubtedly the lost silver coins of Tuskaken, but he has been unable to pinpoint the location exactly. Olbaldine has been able to develop a magical potion that when used at altitude can help pinpoint the source of magical powers. Olbaldine needs to get this potion to various locations, but although a great magician, he is old and weak. He needs a great warrior to go on a long and dangerous quest for him to help him pinpoint the location of the stash of magic silver coins. When this final location is revealed you will be able to go there and collect a silver coin for yourself (you will also be able to sign a log book!). When you are there you must remember to collect only one silver coin, anymore than that could kill you. You must then keep the silver coin. Guard it with your life as one day it may become very very useful.

Olbadine has built a small hut at the published co-ordinates where he works day and night on perfecting his potion. If you feel you are up for the challenge, go there and meet him. He can give you his magic potion and details on what needs to be done with the potion to figure out the location of The Lost Silver of Tuskaken, but be aware, the challenge is big and the adventure is great.

Good luck, I hope you have fun and the cartridge can be downloaded here.
