The Turkic word “tamga” means "stamp" or "seal". The meaning of “tash” is “stone”. One of the most important mantras in Buddhism and Hinduism, ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྂ༔ ,”Om Mani Padme Hum” is carved on the stone in Tibetan letters. It is the mantra of Avalokithesvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. The mantra is untranslatable, but literally, it would translate more or less as “Hail, the jewel in the lotus”. The first records about the stone date to late 19th century. The inscription on the stone dates to 15th–17th centuries.
Tamga-Tash is a holy place for Buddhists, so please behave accordingly.
Using only your GPS device you might be able find your way through small roads and paths to the cache, but it would help to ask for a detailed route description from guesthouse owners in Tamga. The spoiler images describe some of the trickiest parts on the ideal route. From the cache there is a splendid view over the Tamga river gorge. It is a 6 km hike from the village of Tamga, and the stone itself is 125 metres to direction 17 from the cache. Have a nice adventure!

Это мантра бодхисаттвы сострадания Авалокитешвары и одна из самых известных мантр в буддизме и индуизме. Глубокомысленную мантру нельзя перевести, но дословный перевод мантры означает «О, ты, сокровище на лотосе». Впервые письменные источники упоминали камень с буддистской мантрой в конце XIX века. Надпись на камне датируется XV–XVII веками.
Камня почитаются буддистами как священный, и является местом паломничества – значит, ведите себя, пожалуйста, соответственно.
Используя GPS устройство, вы можете найти свой путь по тропинкам и дорожкам к тайнику, но лучше спросить дорогу у хозяев гостиниц в селе Тамга, они знают путь подробно. Спойлер имиджи показывают некоторые пункты при дороге. С тайника - великолепный вид на ущелье реки Тамга. Тайник находится около 6 километров от деревни Тамга, и сама камня находится 125 метров в направление 17 из тайника. Приятного приключения!
