Geocache Description:

At the start you will find yourself at Gudgenby in a box! The beginnings of Gudgenby. Gudgenby in a box is made from the facade of the original Gudgenby Homestead, now protected from the elements by a shelter designed and based on the original homestead.

The timber slabs in the facade are remnants of the original homestead which sheltered pioneer families in the region from 1845. The homestead was 50 kilometres south of Canberra and went through a number of alterations and extensions until it was eventually torn down in 1964.

The hut was given to a collector who intended to rebuild the homestead, but this never happened. In 2010 the ACT Government revived what was left of the old Gudgenby Homestead slabs. Due to their age, a number of slabs had deteriorated substantially so a full reconstruction of the homestead was not possible. But there was enough material to rebuild the front wall of the building.

To find the cache, enter Gudgenby in a box, and answer the following questions:
A: The property was incorporated into Gudgenby Nature reserve in 197A.
B: Ownership of Gudgenby was given to Albert Boots in 192B.
C: The Homestead was papered a second time in 18C8.
D: The remains of the hut were purchased by KHA in 198D.
E: Tom's family had 1E children living in the hut.
F: Ted Brayshaw took over from Tom Oldfield as manager in 19F7.

The cache can now be found at S35° 31.ABC' E149° 03.DEF'
