16/03/2018 Checked after the recent run of DNF's including G2 who had found the hide previously. Can confirm that it is still in place. Hide can be seen from the path. The environment has changed over the last few years. New bamboo has grown which now makes this hide much more difficult to find than from when it was 1st put in place. The camo has aged and weathered and now blends in really well. We did not set out to make this a difficult hide to find which until now has been the case. Have now raised the difficulty level of this hide by a point. Happy hunting.
9.2.12 Shepherds Park to Beach Haven Road (North Shore City Coastal Esplanade Reserves Guideline 2002)
This entire section of shoreline, which extends for some 2km along the southern side of Hellyers Creek and the western side of Kaipatiki Creek fronts onto existing esplanade reserves having an average width of approximately 20m. Access to the shoreline and a small boat ramp and small muddy beach is available from the end of Paragon Avenue. Pedestrian access along the cliff top overlooking Hellyers Creek is possible along a well developed walkway through the Paragon Avenue reserve with a link across a pipeline to the Lancaster Road esplanade reserve with the formed track terminating at Packham Place. From Packham Place the reserve continues along the western side of Kaipatiki Creek to Beach Haven Road. This section of reserve provides an excellent buffer zone between extensive areas of mangrove in the Kaipatiki Creek and the adjoining residential development.
Camouflaged micro cache with room for log only. Tweezers required to extract. Bring your own pen.
If you bring a camera we would love to see your photos of this area.
We will be adding a few more hides along this walkway over the next few months.
