Located near Burton OH, Eldon Russell Park a 132-acre parcel located in Troy Township along the Upper Cuyahoga River, a state-designated Scenic River. It is Geauga Park District's intent to protect this natural area in perpetuity.

A large field at the western edge of the park is managed as grassland. Wildlife that benefit include eastern bluebirds, swallows, eastern meadowlarks, bobolinks, and a wide variety of mammals and insects.

DO NOT PARK ALONG, OR NEXT TO, RAPIDS RD! Park in the first lot, walk back to Rapids Rd. and then walk the grassy western edge of the park alongside the road.

An old drive between 2 large sugar maples mark the entrance to the old homestead. Here blind Mrs Horwath would carry a chair out and sit Collecting a quarter from anyone wanting to go back to the river and fish Park is open until 11pm. Click here for park info and trail map.
