Geocache Description:

This one should be an easy find.

This is part of a paddling geocache trail at Evergreen Lake in Comlara Park. This is one of my favorite places to paddle and I have long felt that this Central Illinois treasure deserves a series of caches within the lake to complement the series along the hiking trails. Please be aware that there is a fee for boats using this lake (choice of a one-day pass or an annual pass) -- the funds support the maintenance and development of this multi-use county park venue. During the warmer months, there are boats available for rental at the east launch site. Special thanks to Michael S. from the McLean County Parks and Recreation for permission to place these caches.

As always, never paddle without a pdf -- and please be respectful of the wildlife, the environment, other park users, and the cache placement itself (i.e., please replace it exactly as found). And please respect your limits: do not attempt these caches from the shore unless you are prepared to get very wet; do not attempt these caches when the weather/temperature is potentially dangerous (as a general rule of thumb, the ambient temperature plus the water temperature should add up to more than 100 -- although this is dependent upon clothing, equipment, wind speed, and duration of exposure to the elements); and DO NOT take the risk of walking on the lake during the winter months.
