Geocache Description:

I found a little corner in Valois to hide a small bison tube. The container contains only a log, so don't forget to bring a pencil.

There is parking available on the street or in the parking lot behind the church. I hope you enjoy finding it.



I remember the first time that I was looking for a cache for which the hint said “bison”. While I appreciated the hint, I was confused because I had no idea what a bison tube was. Since then, I’ve come to learn that they make great cache containers and come in a variety of colours and sizes. I’m still a bit confused by the name though since I don’t think that they look at all like a bison. I’m sure of that because once, with KinderKen, I visited an interesting Earth Cache (GC244RH) called "Wanuskewin - Buffalo Rubbing Stone" and there, we saw a bison in the corner. (That’s them in the background image). Turns out the early European visitors to this country labeled the American bison (Bison bison) “bufello”. That’s wrong. The magnificent furry hoofed mammal that roamed our lands is not a buffalo, but, in fact, is a bison; but it doesn’t resemble a sleek shiny tube in the least. I learn so much geocaching.

Just to be clear, you’re looking for a bison not a Bison bison.
