It is said that the distance of approximately 3.5km from Iwamuro Kannon in Yoshimi-town to Yoshimi Kannon was the pilgrimage routes for praying to Yoshimi Kannon from ancient times. Therefore in this section, there are many lucky Ojizou-sama and Buddhist temples believed that to work for a wish by local people and pilgrim from old days. In late years the couples going along thiese routes for praying "Yoshimi Kannon" where a wish comes true are increasing rapidly. Do you not go on the road of the wish with Geocaching ?
It is said that Gyoki-Bosatsu craved Kanzeon-Bosatsu statue 1200 years ago and offered it in the crave of Iwadono-san Anraku-temple called Yoshimi-Kannon and this is the beginning of this temple. When Mr. Gohoujyou attacked Matsuyama-castle in 1537, the current main temple disappeared and was rebuilt approximately 320 years ago. Sokusyoin is approximately 500m east of Anraku-temple and it is informed that Noriyori brother of Yoritomo Minamoto hid himself for the childhood period here. In addition, Yoshimi Kannon is the 11th Fudasyo "Bando thirty-three kannon".
吉見町の岩室観音から吉見観音にかけての約3.5kmの道のりは昔から吉見観音にお参りする人々の巡礼路であったと言われています。 そのためこの区間には、昔から地元の人々や巡礼者に信仰され、願い事に効くとされる縁起の良いお地蔵様や仏閣が数多くあります。 近年「願いごとが叶うお寺」として人気の「吉見観音」参りにこの道を通るカップルも急増中です。 ジオキャッシングがてら「願いごとの道」を旅してみませんか。
吉見観音と呼ばれている岩殿山安楽寺は、約1200年前に行基菩薩が観世音菩薩の像を彫って岩窟に納めたことが始まりとされています。 現在の本堂は、 天文６年（1537年）後北条氏が松山城を攻めた際に消失してしまい、今から約３２０年前に再建されたものです。 安楽寺の東約５００ｍには息障院があり、源頼朝の弟範頼がその幼少期に身を隠していたと伝えられています。 また、吉見観音は「坂東三十三観音」の11番札所となっています。
