This is one of many caches placed at Deer Creek Reservoir. The park is about one mile east of Limaville and five miles north of Alliance. It is home to a 300-acre lake surrounded by nearly 1,000 acres of forested land with hiking trails. The park offers a fishing pier, a boat ramp for electric motors only, picnic tables and grills, and a trailhead for the 4.45-mile Mahoning Valley Trail. Also included in the park is a 260 foot free span bridge as part of the Mahoning Valley Trail over the reservoir. The park also is a habitat for bald eagles, osprey, and migrating waterfowl. Some white-tailed deer and coyote can be spotted in forested areas surrounding the reservoir too. The man-made Deer Creek Reservoir was built in 1954 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as one of Alliance's primary water supplies.
You likely won't encounter a lot of other people, but keep an eye out for other trail users.
