FIN - Kätkö sijaitsee puolustusaseman V:21 alueella, asemien V:20, V:24 ja luolan V:22 läheisyydessä. Puolustusasemat kuuluvat Vartiokylän tukikohtaan, joka kuului venäläiseen Krepost Sveaborgin linnoitukseen.
Puolustusasema V:21 on rakennettu 1915-1918, ja sijaitsee Kukkaniityntien puistossa, korkean kallion pohjois- ja itäreunalla. Siitä johtaa yhdyshaudat luolalle V:22 ja puolustusasemaan V:24.
Alueella on maahan kaivettuja ja kallioon louhittuja yhdys- ja taisteluhautoja, joita on tuettu osin betonilla ja osin muuratuilla kivillä joiden ulkopinta on rapattu. Alueella on yhteensä neljä betonista konekivääriasemaa ja kaksi tähystysasemaa. Suojahuoneita on 5 ja rakentamattomia kuoppia 9. Yksi konekivääriasemista on ollut katettu ja sen katto on räjäytetty. Muut rakenteet ovat jääneet avonaisiksi.
Osa puolustusasemista on nykyään jäänyt talojen, pihamaiden ja ulkoiluteiden alle, mutta vaikka alueella kulkeminen on vapaata, puolustusaseman V:21 jäljellä olevat osat on kuitenkin luokiteltu kiinteiksi muinaisjäännöksiksi. Muistathan tämän kulkiessasi alueella, ja pyri jättämään mahdollisimman vähän ylimääräisiä jälkiä käynnistäsi :)
Julkaisuhetkellä kätkössä on loki ja pieni infolappu minigripissä, yksi ylimääräinen minigrip-pussi, huono kynä ja pimeän alkutalven kunniaksi kaksi heijastinta minigripeissä. Jos tarvitset heijastinta, ole hyvä ja nappaa mukaan!
ENG - The cache is placed right inside defense station V:21, close to defense stations V:20, V:24 and cave V:22. The stations are a part of the Vartiokylä base, that belonged to the russian fortification Krepost Sveaborg.
The station V:21 was built during 1915-1918, and can be found in the Kukkaniityntie park area, mostly built on the north and east sides of a rocky hill. It has connective trenches built towards cave V:22 and station V:24.
Within the area, there are multiple trenches dug in the ground, or carved in stone, some of which have been reinforced with concrete or brickworks. There are 4 concrete machine gun stations, and 2 lookout stations. There are 5 protective rooms, and a further 9 pits that were never finished. One of the machine gun stations has had a roof, but it has since been demolished. All other structures in the area have been open structures.
Part of the old stations can no longer be seen, as the historic structures have partially been buried under modern houses and roads, but while the area is free to explore all the remaining structures of station V:21 are now protected under law. Please remember this while in the area, and leave as little evidence of your visit as you can :)
At the time this cache was published, the cache contained a small logbook in a minigrip with a small info sheet, one extra minigrip, a low quality mechanical pencil, and in honor of the very dark days of early winter a couple of pedestrian safety reflectors in minigrip-bags. Should you need a reflector, feel free to take one!
HUOMAA: Kätkö ei ole tukikohtarakenteissa, eikä kätkön löytämiseksi tarvitse mennä yhdyshautoihin. Läheisen kerrostalon pihalle ei myöskään ole tarvetta poiketa, reittejä on muitakin.
NOTICE: The container is not in the station's structures, and in order to log this cache you do not need to enter the trenches. There are also many routes available to this cache, so it should be easy to avoid the private area just next to the woods.
