LOST
In 2004 the entertainment world was taken by storm, a new T.V show was sweeping the ratings and dominating office water cooler chat like no show ever has before or since. It was some sort of mystery adventure show about a group of plane crash survivors battling to stay alive on a mysterious island that was home to some very strange and mystifying scenarios. The internet was all a buzz with complex theories and explanations for the strange island and it's going ons. Although the strange mysteries were the original draw it was the extremely well written character development of the castaways that got everyone so hooked on this show. As the show went on the mysteries deepened and the fans theories continued to expand. The first few seasons contained exceptional story telling. However by the time the 4th and 5th seasons came along fringe fans were losing interest but the devoted hardcore fans my self included were still hanging on waiting to see what it all meant and what would be the destiny of all the amazing characters we fell in love with. When the series ended after season 6 many were left disappointed by the lack of concrete answers to the huge web of mysteries that had been weaved by the creators of the show. But for those of us that understood that the mysteries were just a vessel to get us to the true meaning and soul of the show which was of course the characters and their fate both physically and spiritually speaking it was a great ending. In the end we all got to see that the people we fell in love with came to terms with their own destiny and their own life choices. It was a beautiful story and just like in both life and geocaching we all learned that it is not the destination but rather the journey, the experiences, the people that touch you and the people you touch that really counts.
How it works
This Mystery Puzzle Cache is based on season 1 of this show but you do not need to have seen the show in order to solve the puzzle. You will need to solve the puzzle and get the mystery coordinates to the secret location of the cache. Then you will need to find the cache and locate the log and sign it in order to claim your find. For those of you who know the show well the puzzle may be very easy but still entertaining. For those of you who know nothing or only a little about LOST the puzzle will take a little more work involving some investigating and a small amount of reading. Fear not if you think this will be too hard to accomplish as I like to make my puzzles very easy to solve and very fun and entertaining to work through with simple instructions on what you need to do. It will be easy and fun but that does not mean you won't have to spend a little time going on a journey into the world I want you to experience ... the world of LOST. So sit back grab a cup of coffee and a pencil and paper and fire up the old google machine and lets get down to business and if you want why not invite a friend over or call someone up and do this together because like the message the show delivers we must "LIVE TOGETHER OR DIE ALONE" Just kidding you can do this by yourself and be completely safe.
The Puzzle
The puzzle will deal with information about the 15 main characters from season 1 of LOST. Below you will find 3 charts with names and photos as well as numeric values placed on tiles on these charts. You will use the information on these charts to discover a number value for each of the 15 characters. Once you have done that you will take those values and combine them in a certain way to come up with 6 different sums. Finally you will take those sums and perform a simple math equation in order to get the final mystery coordinates for the cache.

Step 1
You must use your knowledge of the show or your investigative techniques and google skills to match up each Character from chart 1 with the Actor from chart 2 and the photo from chart 3. Once you have done that you must add up the numbers on each of the 3 tiles to get the final value for each character from the show. Once you have each characters final value written down you can move on to the next step.

Step 2
You must use your knowledge of the show or your investigative skills to find the 6 number sums from the character information and story lines below. You can use the link below to find the information you will need to answer the questions and get the 6 different sums.Once you know the answers to the questions you must use the characters total value (which you solved in step 1) to get the sum for each of the 6 storyline/character info questions.

Storyline A
In the episode titled "Pilot (Part 1)" which 3 characters set out into the jungle to find the cockpit of the plane in order to locate the transceiver ?
Combine these 3 characters total values from step 1 to get the sum for Storyline A

In the episode titled "Pilot (Part 2)" which 6 characters head out to take the transceiver inland in an attempt to reach higher ground ?
Combine these 6 characters total values from step 1 to get the sum for storyline B
Storyline C
In the episode titled "Exodus (Part 1)" which 5 main characters were with Arzt when he arrived at the Black Rock ?
Combine these 5 characters total values from step 1 to get the sum for storyline C
Storyline D
Of the 15 Main characters from season 1 which 2 characters are the only married couple on the island ?
Combine these 2 characters total values from step 1 to get the sum for storyline D
Storyline E
Of the 15 main Characters which 2 are the only blood relatives on the island that we are aware of during season 1 ?
Combine these 2 characters total values from step 1 to get the sum for storyline E
Storyline F
Of the 15 main characters in season 1 which 2 are the only ones that we know of that have given birth on the island ?
Combine these 2 characters total values from step 1 to get the sum for storyline F
Step 3
Now that you have your 6 storyline sums you will use them in a final equation to determine the mystery coordinates to the secret location of the cache.
Northing equation
Take the number 174825227656440 and divide it by your answer for storyline A
Now take your new number and divide it by your answer for storyline B
Now take your new number and divide it by your answer for story line C
Your new number should be the Northing coordinates.
Westing equation
Take the number 57820501333716 and divide it by your answer for storyline D
Now take your new number and divide it by your answer for storyline E
Now take your new number and divide it by your answer for storyline F

If you are correct Congrats !!!
Now you can go and search for the cache and sign the log to claim your find.
One more thing
In order to access the log you will need to open a lock the combination for that lock is the sum of Hurley's 6 "lucky" numbers.
These are also known as the "LOST" numbers.
