In February, GCCO and MikeAndJuli coordinated 5 events around our state to start an ENOURMOUS Trackable race! There were hundreds of competitors entered, and many excited faces. For one bug, their whirlwind adventure around the globe started at the event hosted right here at Library 21c in Colorado Springs - and ended with them being the overall race winner!
That bug is just one of many amazing tales from our second annual trackable race that we will be sharing with the world! Join us where it all began this year for some fun, tall tales, and surprises.
When: November 29th, 2015 from 3:00PM to 4:30PM (doors open at 2)
Where: the Venue @ Library 21c - 1175 Chapel Hills Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80920
Why: Celebrate the tales from the race, and family-friendly geocaching fun!
Who: Open to the public (that includes YOU)
Timeline:
3:00-3:15: Mingling and Plotting! Make sure you've signed the logbook, dropped coords for your cache exchange, and that you have a ticket for the Gold coin drawing! Feel free to mingle, ask questions, and plot how you are going to win next year's race!
3:15-3:30: Awards! All eyes to the front stage
3:30-3:45: Prizes! You don't have to be a participant from the race to win these cool prizes!
3:45-4:00ish: Open to more mingling, may be more activities TBA
4:00: Cache Exchange Drawing! See below for details about the Cache Exchange
This event is our second 'And The Winner Is...' event, and we are going to mimick some of th excitement from the original! Of course there are the race announcements and awards. We will also do another 'cache exchange' activity, some drawings for cool prizes - including a covetted GOLD GCCO Geocoin!

from 3:15-3:30 we will be presenting various awards from the race, including the overall winner!
Prize Drawings!
From 3:30-3:45 we will be doing drawings for some sweet prizes! You didnt have to participate in the race to eneter these drawings, and we will even be giving away a Gold GCCO Geocoin! Remember, you can't buy these gold coins - they can only be won at events like this!
Cache Exchange!
We will be doing a cache exchange, much like our very first event last year (And The Winner Is...). Simply hide a TEMPORARY cache nearby shortly before attending this event, and you will be entered into a drawing to find one that someone else has hidden. You get to keep the cache you find! Here are the actual rules:
- Must be within 3 miles of the event
- Temporary cache hide – not listed on Geocaching
- Container/contents value should be around $5
- No impactful hides or suspicious hides please!
- Bring the coordinates on a piece of paper, folded, with your ID and name
- Coordinates must be submitted by 4pm
- Do not take part if you can not stay at the event to the end
Don't forget, this event would not be possible if it weren't for trackables! We will have designated areas for discovering and trading of trackables (tags, coins, goodies!). Bring lots of trackables to this event!
We would like to thank PPLD for allowing us to host another event in their beautiful venue room! This has been proven to be an excellent meeting space, and a comfortable place for a whole lot of cachers!
