Geocache Description:

Uniquely camoed log only cache. Note that the cache is not in the memorial.

The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway starts at Liberty State Park in Jersey City and travels north to the George Washington Bridge in about 10.5 linear miles. All along the waterway are artifacts from the waterfront's past as a hub of intermodal transport and oddities of its new role as a financial center and high-end residential living. The HRWW is the easternmost section of the Liberty Water Gap trail, which eventually will create a hike and bike friendly path across New Jersey. Depending on the weather and time of day, the Walkway is crowded with joggers, workers taking a stroll, or mothers pushing strollers. You will need to watch for muggles at all times!

This is a great series to do on a bike. If you do not have one, you can rent one near the Exchange Place PATH station near the southern end of the series or the Newport PATH station at the northern end.

The ninth cache in the series bring you further south on the HRWW. The nearby Hudson River Korean War Memorial is a beautiful new addition to the walkway. The black granite panels are interesting in that they show different areas of Korea during the war and today. I won this container at the 2015 Metro Gathering Event at Waterloo Village, a preserved 19th century village on the Morris Canal so this seemed like the perfect place to use it. Enjoy!

Free parking is available just north of the memorial for the time that you are there.
