The roads and walkways around the Lake Hood and Lake Spenard float plane aerodromes are a scenic and pedestrian-friendly walk in any season. They are easily accessible from the hotels near the airport and even from the airport terminal itself if you have the layover time. A full loop around the lakes is about 4 to 5 miles and has ten or more interesting geocaches, but lots of shorter walks can be planned. Watch out for moose and planes with wheels, skis or floats.
