Geocache Description:

THE GEOCACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. This is, however, your starting location.

Have you ever wanted to REALLY get to know Granville Island, to see the nitty-gritty, to explore places that you only had heard of? Well, this Mystery Walkabout will provide for you this exact opportunity.

To complete this Mystery Walkabout and ultimately sign the logbook, you'll need to complete the following steps, in order:

1. Locate a "Map of Granville Island" (issued by CMHC Granville Island) - there are many ways of acquiring such an item. You do need a physical, printed map issued by Granville Island. A print-out will NOT do. A image of the required map is provided below. The "Granville Island Summer Edition" will also work with one slight adjustment. Maps can be located in the red map displays scattered throughout the island. Typically you'll need to check a couple to find one stocked with the map. Additional locations to obtain the map include the volunteer information booth located within the Public Market or the outdoors booth near the island's entrance in the summer.

2. Check out the photos in the Image Gallery or listed on the cache page while viewing on the web. There are 8 photos that were all taken somewhere on Granville Island.

3. Locate the name of the location where the photo was taken on the français side of the map. Circle the black and white number associated with the location on the directoy and note the digit that has been blocked out in the picture  - this is vital information.

4. Head to the given coordinates - this is where you will begin your search. At this location, take note of the glass door with the arrow pointing towards the handicap entrance. Associate the door number on that arrow with the business located immediately inside the doors that will serve you freshly brewed coffee. Circle the black and white number associated with the business and mark the number you obtained on your map. This will be needed in addition to the aforementioned numbers.

5. Use the following poem to piece together the clues you have:

IF YOU ARE USING THE SUMMER EDITION OF THE MAP, SIMPLY OMIT POINT 6

"You've travelled far and wide across this land,
Fuse the points naturally, it is my command,
Another point will reveal itself to you, most grand,
Go through this point and flip the terrain, I demand,
The cache's ground zero is nearly at hand."

 Additional helpful advice:

a. A bright light such as the sun may aid you while completing the last steps of the poem.

b. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me (Trexzer) via the Message Centre should you encounter any troubles with the poem, I want this cache to be found.

Cache was originally created by Rough Draft, the puzzle has been updated after a new printing of the map.
