The coordinates will take you to the bank of the Menai Straits past the Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre and a little Church called Llanfair-is-Gaer. Bring your own pen to sign it. The cache is accessible in all tides, but the chance to explore the coastline is limited when the tide is in.
Llanfair is Gaer (Mary's Church below the fort) is a lovely Parish Church, parts of it dates back to the 14th century, and is well worth a visit, if only for the views of the Straits. It is located between Caernarfon and Y Felinheli, Caernarfon being the town where the fort is located - Segontium, and Felinheli also known as Port Dinorwig, where, in it's glory days had a strong ship building industry, where my Taid's family worked. Before passing the Church you pass the Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre where they offer outdoor activities, sailing courses, power boating, windsurfing, kayaking and much more. On a sunny day you can sit on the bench and take in the views of Anglesey, listen to the waves and contemplate life in general. I have chosen this name and location in tribute to my Taid`s (grandfather) family. Many of them lived and died in this Parish and so were buried in the near by graveyard. Diolch yn fawr and enjoy. Llongyfarchiadau / Congratulations to JennyFfreithwen for FTF.
