This little known crash site of a 1943 B-25 Bomber that was enroute to Donaldson Center. The historian who found the plane, reports that the large pine tree, broken at the top, was what downed the Bomber. A sign is all that remains of the crash, but you have a beautiful view while hiking along the ridgeline. A wonderful piece of history that shouldn't be forgotten. Geocache placed on Veteran's Day as a salute to all who have served.
You will leave from the memorial parking area, but there is not a marked trail. The geocache is an Ammo Can near the actual crash site. (not the road marker). Normal items and sign in log are located within can.
