Geocache Description:

The Dodge Street subway was built in 1934, This was one of many New Deal Era projects. It was  Placed on the national register of historic places in 2010. It was rededicated on October 29, 2015. This is the last remaining  underground passageway in the metropolitan area.

I remember several of these growing up in Omaha, 33rd & Dodge St. 52nd & Northwest Radial Highway, and this one.  However I did not know that they were called subways. When I think of Subways I think of New York City and Zion National Park, Now, You might be wondering why I would associate a national park with subways, Sally and I are hiker's ,There is a section of the (Left Fork of North Creek) within Zion national Park, Which in our opinion is one of the most beautiful hikes in all of the Park it's 3.3 miles one way to the subway section. But well worth the time and effort.
