Rainow lies in the foothills of the Pennines straddling the Cheshire boundary of the Peak District National Park. The village gets its name from the Old English Hraefn Hoe meaning Ravens' Hill. Rainow is great walking country and if geocaching in the area you would almost certainly benefit from the use of the Rainow Parish Paths map that can be bought very cheaply from a number of sources including the local pub, the Robin Hood Inn. The area is well served by geocaches and this cache along with half a dozen others I am currently putting in place is an attempt to fill some of the few gaps in the area. This cache can be combined with any number of other caches in Rainow to create your own purpose built geocaching walk.
The cache container is large enough for small toys and/or trackables. I have placed a couple of items in there to start things off. Please make sure the cache is hidden from view when you replace it.
