JC Heritage Trail - Pensacola St. Augustine Road Traditional Cache

The Jackson Heritage Geotrail consist of 11 caches around the county that go hand in hand with the Spanish Heritage Trail. Search and enjoy the unique Spanish colonial history of Jackson County as you drive the 150 mile round trip through out the county. 

Throughout the trail collect all the key words and unscramble them to complete the phrase to qualify for the coin collection.

Today's State Highway 2 follows much of the route of the historic Pensacola-St. Augustine Road as it carries travelers through northern Jackson County. This trail was first mapped in 1778 and over its history carried American Indian hunters, British and Spanish soldiers, traders and early settlers. In 1818, during the Second Spanish Era, the U.S. allied Creek force of Brig. Gen. William McIntosh followed this road on its way to the Battle of the Upper Chipola.
