Geocache Description:

Rainow lies in the foothills of the Pennines straddling the Cheshire boundary of the Peak District National Park. The village gets its name from the Old English Hraefn Hoe meaning Ravens' Hill. It is home to around 2500 people and is a great place to live and to visit.

Rainow is great walking country that is well served for geocaching. This cache along with around half a dozen more that I am placing is an attempt to fill in some of the few gaps that exist in the area. Combine it with some of the many other geocaches in the area to create your own purpose built geocaching walk.

This cache is placed on Sugar Lane a quiet residential lane that leads down from the centre of the village to the start of the many walks on Kerridge Side. Use stealth as there are a number of houses overlooking this property. It is on the left side on the lane as you walk down. Note: The cache is NOT hidden in the dry stone wall.

Bring your own pen and tweezers.
