JC Heritage Trail - Chacato Revolt in 1675 Traditional Cache

The Jackson Heritage Geotrail consist of 12 caches around the county that go hand in hand with the Spanish Heritage Trail. Search and enjoy the unique Spanish colonial history of Jackson County as you drive the 150 mile round trip through out the county. 

Throughout the trail collect all the key words and unscramble them to complete the phrase to qualify for the coin collection.

This stop interprets the uprising staged against the Spanish by the Chacato (Chatot) Indians in 1675. Led by a chief named Dioscale, the rebellion drove Spanish missionaries from the Florida Panhandle. The kiosk is located on the grounds of Heritage Village, a historic preservation project of Baptist College of Florida. The grounds included restored churches, homes and other structures important to the history of Florida!
