HR - Hoosier Reciprocity Ver2.0 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hoosier_Reviewer: Since there has been no response to my previous note, I am archiving the cache.

While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you for a reasonable amount of time, we cannot do so indefinitely. In light of the lack of communication regarding this geocache, it has been archived to free up the area for new placements. You will not be able to unarchive this listing. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up this geocache or any remaining bits as soon as possible.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived."

Thank you,

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This park is open from dawn to dusk. NO NIGHT CACHING! While there is a paved path right next to the cache location - and someone in a wheelchair could observe the hunt - the cache itself would not be reachable from a wheelchair.

This is the second version of this hide. The original version (GC498DN) kept getting legs. We are not sure if that is because of mischievous muggles or because the container had half a walnut attached to it. We finally got tired of hunting down the container (it was once over 100 feet away from GZ) or replacing it - so we have changed up the hide and created this new listing.

Here is the story on the origins of this series . . . As we were hiding a cache in this park and trying to decide on a name for it, we were reflecting on how this game of geocaching is dependent upon reciprocity. You hide something and I find it - then I hide something and you find it. Without that kind of working together and giving back to one another, geocaching would not be nearly so much fun.

One way this reciprocity and giving back is exemplified is by the Groundspeak Volunteers - so we decided to name that cache "TSR - The Secret is Reciprocity" (GC35H7R). Before that one was even published, we decided to make this a three-cache "Reciprocity Series" to recognize the contributions of the then-current Indiana Reviewers to this hobby (Reviewer HILTS, The Mad Reviewer, and The Scarlett Reviewer). Since then, a fourth volunteer Reviewer has joined the team - thus prompting the publication of this cache and a resulting four-cache series. We have created a bookmark list for all of the caches in the series: Bookmark LINK.

The initials of this cache are for Hoosier Reviewer - who has become the primary reviewer of caches in the Indianapolis area. Several people have commented on this Reviewer's helpfulness - a lot like Hoosier Hospitality - and we ourselves have experienced that as we are readying some new hides. HR has been a great addition to the Indiana Reviewer Team and is displaying the same great traits as the other members of the team.

This cache is located in Independence Park, which is Indiana's first fully handicapped accessible park AND playground. It is owned by the county but has been funded by donations from the community and businesses. The playground and all trails in the park are fully ADA accessible.
