Geocache Description:


The nearby weir between the canal and the Cusher River used to control the level of water in the canal. Now it acts as a flood relief for the river. That is its function is opposite from its original one.

The causeway accross the canal here, with the 2 pipes through it, is another flood control mechanism. These would have to be removed if the canall were to be reopened.
