Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in memory of my son Nathan. Geocaching is my way of honouring his love of life and sense of adventure. This cache represents his love of skateboarding.

Located at the Courtice Community Complex, the skatepark is named in honour of Rob Piontek, a professional Toronto skateboarder who died in August 2007.

Skateboarding is thought to have originated in the late 1940's or early 1950's.  Surfers in California wanted something to do when the waves were flat and got the idea to try surfing the streets.  They called the sport "sidewalk surfing"!

The cache is not actually hidden by the skatepark as the muggle potential is too high  Park your car at the community centre and enjoy watching the skaters  To find the cache, walk to the entrance of the Courtice Millennium Trail behind the community centre. The cache is a very short walk in and just off the trail.  It is a small camouflaged recatangular container. There might be a few dragonfly keychains in honour of Nathan. Feel free to take one, no trade required.

****CONGRATULATIONS TO FISHN4ME FOR FTF! *******
