The Quilt Block Series will be a series of 30 caches that are mostly on back roads in President Township. Some of the roads are posted "No Winter Maintenance." All of the hides should be quick finds and there are pull-offs close-by each cache. There is not alot of traffic on these roads, but please be careful when caching with children.
NINE PATCH
The Nine Patch block is very versatile. It generally refers to a 3 X 3 layout of fabrics. But variations can include any type of smaller block in place of the solid blocks. A new version that has become very popular is the "Disappearing Nine Patch." In this variation the blocks in constructed as pictured above, then the entire block is cut in half both vertically and horizontally. The 4 pieces are then rearranged into varying patterns. The Nine Patch is a very easy block to learn and is usually included in any beginner's course.
