Het Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde Amsterdam (ACTA) is de faculteit tandheelkunde van de Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) en de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). Deze, destijds unieke, samenwerking tussen de twee universiteiten in Amsterdam kwam in 1984 tot stand. In die tijd was er een overschot aan tandartsen. Dit dwong de minister tot de sluiting van opleidingen tandheelkunde. Door het samenvoegen van twee losse faculteiten kon er een opleiding tot tandarts binnen Amsterdam blijven bestaan. ACTA was vanaf de oprichting gehuisvest aan de Louwesweg, een locatie in Amsterdam-West (tegenover het Slotervaartziekenhuis) tot de verhuizing in 2010 naar deze top-locatie op de Zuidas (ontwerp door Benthem Crouwel Architecten). Op ACTA wordt zowel onderzoek, onderwijs als patiëntenzorg uitgevoegd. Op dit moment werken er op ACTA ongeveer 500 medewerkers en studeren er ongeveer 900 studenten. Samen bieden ze aan ongeveer 350 patiënten per dag tandheelkundige zorg. In dit gebouw zijn ook de Stichting Bijzondere Tandheelkunde (SBT) en de opleiding mondzorgkunde (Inholland) gehuisvest. Begin 2015 leverde OVG real estate ‘The Edge’ op, het kantoorgebouw direct naast de A10. Dit is het meest duurzame kantoorgebouw ter wereld. In dit kantoorgebouw is Deloitte de hoofdhuurder, maar ook AKD, Salesforce, Henkel, Sandvik en Edelman zitten in dit gebouw gevestigd.
