Geocache Description:

This cache is located within Pollok Country Park, near where the public path goes under the M77 motorway.

Getting Here:
Driving: Parking is available a 10 minute walk from the cache location; see reference waypoint.
Train: The cache is a 15 minute walk from Corkerhill train station or a 30 minute walk from Pollokshaws West train station.
Bus: The cache is a 10 minute walk from Corkerhill Road stop on First Bus route 10 or a 30 minute walk from Pollokshaws Road stop on First Bus route 57.

This section of the M77 motorway was built from 1994 to 1997 to bypass the Giffnock and Newton Mearns districts. The motorway extension was fiercely opposed by environmentalists, who set up a road protest camp, as it meant that the motorway would cut through the historic Pollok Country Park. Approval for the extension was granted and construction went ahead. I wonder if any of the visitors to this cache both lived nearby and are old enough to remember when the motorway opened almost twenty years ago?

The cash is small but still large enough for a log book and some very small items. Please bring your own pen/pencil.
