SAD Therapy. What is SAD? SAD is the abbreviation for Seasonal Affective Disorder. It is a state where a person experiences a type of depression that is brought on by the change in seasons or, and most probably, the reduction in available time to really enjoy geocaching without additional layers of clothing. SAD symptoms normally start in late fall, or when the first really cold temperatures and snow arrive, and continue through the winter months until the snow is gone and the snowbirds are returning. It’s time to apply this therapy, proven to cure SAD, at least temporarily, so let’s get started.
This series is designed to get you going. The caches are all winter friendly, are various sizes of pill bottles, and will be easy to find. It consists of 26 caches in honor of the English alphabet. Each of these caches will have a code inside and taped on the outside of the bottle. You will need to record the code in order to find the 4 bonus caches. An example may be “A = 3 “or “G = 9 “. Fill in the blanks on the bonus cache pages to find the coordinates for the bonus caches. Some additional caches (22) have been placed to fill in some blank spaces on the trail and enhance the effectiveness of this therapy. These additional caches have the term “SAD Extra” in the title, do not have a code, and are either a pill bottle or a cap-n-cap. A final cache will end the series and, hopefully, cure all related SAD symptoms.
REMEMBER TO RECORD THE CODE.
Bring your own instrument to sign the log and replace as found. A tool may be required to retrieve the log. All caches should be child friendly so bring the entire family. And above all – ENJOY and cure SAD.
