A tribute to Ted Quick from his comrades and friends.
Rosebud Post 587 dedicated the M60 tank to Theodore Leavern (Ted) Quick (Febraruy 21,1934 to April 22, 2014) for his years of dedicated service to the VFW hall. Not only did he have an instrumental hand in getting the post built but also in serving as its commander for many years. The tank is over 30.5 feet long with an unloaded wieght of 92,500 Lbs. Combat loaded it wieghs in at 101,000 Lbs with a top speed of 30mph forward and 5mph in reverse. It carrys 375 gallons of diesel to power the Continental AVDS- 1790-2 V12 air cooledtwin turbo diesel with 750 horsepower. It gets approximently 0.82mpg at 20mph. The main gun consisit of a M68 105mm gun on the turnot. We would like to thank Ted for his contributions both in the military and in his civilian life.
