Tanzan-Jinja Shrine enshrines Fujiwara Kamatari (614-669 A.D.), who was a meritorious Interior Minister in Japan.
It is well known that he played an important role in the " Reformation of the Taika Era ", together with Prince Nakano-oeno-oji (Emperor Tenji. Tenji also spelled Tenchi. 38th emperor of Japan).
There is also a picturesque spot for the viewing of colorful autumn foliage.
It is hidden near the entrance in a well known way.
