Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

At the posted cords students learn about the Bill of Rights.

We would like to propose the creation of a Bill of Rights for Geocachers. With some research we found that any time you want to push a bill through the Senate, you have to have a witty acronym to go along with it.

Examples:  GPS (Global Positioning System) FTF (First To Find) DNF (Did Not Find) PAF (Phone A Friend) D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) C.C.A.T (Citizens Combat Auto Theft).

As of the publish date, we don’t have an acronym.

Here is what we proposed:

AMENDMENT I

Groundspeak shall make no law respecting an establishment of an Event, or prohibiting the free exercise therof; or abridging the freedom to host an event, or of the publishing; or the right of the cachers peaceably to assemble, and to have a good time.

ADMENDMENT II

A well regulated  cacher, being necessary to the security of a cache container, the right of the cacher to keep and bear Zip Ties, shall not be infringed.

ADMENDMENT III

No Travel Bug shall, in time of peace be quartered in any cache longer than 2 weeks, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by Groundspeak.

ADMENDMENT IV

The right of cachers to be secure in their hide-a-keys, film canisters, cracked Tupperware and leaky pill bottles, against unreasonable seizures, shall not be violated, unless said caches are placed near federal buildings, airports, train tracks, schools, courthouses or bridges.

ADMENDMENT V

No cacher shall be held to answer for a guidelines violation, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a “Should be Archived” log, nor shall a cacher be compelled in any guidelines violation case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.

ADMENDMENT VI

In all guideline violation prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public forum review, by an impartial Reviewer of the State and District wherin the violation shall have been committed.

ADMENDMENT VII

In geoconflicts at common law, where the value of swag in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by lackeys shall be preserved.

ADMENDMENT VIII

Excessive bail shall not be requested by a PAF, when excessive fines are imposed if  picked up for caching after sunset when posted – Not 24/7.

ADMENDMENT IX

The enumeration in the Geocaching Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the caching community.

ADMENDMENT X

The geo-powers not delegated to the Headquarters by the Geocaching Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the Reviewers respectively, or to the cachers.
